La Fuerza Aérea Argentina ha instalado en el Aeropuerto Internacional de Buenos Aires su Hospital Reubicable, compuesto por Módulos Tridimensionales Extensibles fabricados por Arcat.

La ministra de Defensa Nilda Garré ante el pedido de su colega de Salud, Graciela Ocaña, ordenó a la Fuerza Aérea Argentina el despliegue de uno de los Hospitales Militares Reubicables de dicha Fuerza, en el Aeropuerto Internacional de Ezeiza.

La instalación del mismo se lleva a cabo a los efectos de contribuir al control de pasajeros por el brote de la gripe A/H1N1, conocida como influenza porcina.

Este Hospital desplegable está instalado en once containers -siete hospitalarios y cuatro de apoyo- que pueden ser transportados por diversos medios, incluido el medio aéreo a través de los aviones C-130. En este caso, el mismo fue trasladado desde la I Brigada Aérea del Palomar -que es la Brigada de transporte de la Fuerza Aérea- y está siendo colocado en un predio de Ezeiza cercano a los edificios centrales del Aeropuerto.

Respecto a los servicios que brinda, el hospital cuenta con sala de terapia intensiva para cuatro pacientes, laboratorio, sala de rayos, dos ambulancias para el eventual transporte de enfermos al centro de salud donde fueran derivados, una capacidad de dieciséis camas y, una vez que entre en funcionamiento, trabajarán por turnos de ocho horas cuatro médicos, ocho enfermeras y dos bioquímicos. También, se podrá sumar al mismo personal del Ministerio de Salud.

A los efectos de concretar el funcionamiento permanente del hospital, se está trabajando en los containers en la instalación de la red eléctrica necesaria. Se calcula que estará en plena actividad el viernes de esta semana. Su función será recibir a eventuales pacientes que sean derivados a su llegada al Aeropuerto de Ezeiza.

Es preciso destacar que el Hospital Reubicable instalado en dicho aeropuerto fue adquirido por la actual gestión en el corriente año, con los fondos del programa especial de operaciones de paz, siendo ésta la primera ocasión de despliegue. Por sus capacidades, está previsto para ser transportado a un frente de combate y atender a los heridos, pero, a su vez, tiene plena capacidad de adaptación a todos los ítems de la medicina.

En este sentido, y debido a sus amplias capacidades y servicios, este Hospital Militar Reubicable de la Fuerza Aérea Argentina ha sido calificado por las Naciones Unidas con el Nivel I Plus. Según esta calificación, el Hospital es altamente competente para responder ante emergencias y evacuaciones. Asimismo, el carácter de Plus se debe al hecho de contar con laboratorio de análisis y rayos X.

Cabe mencionar que este Hospital presenta características similares al que la Fuerza Aérea tiene instalado en Haití, como parte del contingente argentino de cascos azules, que integran la misión por la paz de las Naciones Unidas en ese país, denominada MINUSTAH.

Actualmente, funciona como el hospital de toda la fuerza de la MINUSTAH y, al mismo tiempo, ha brindado mucho apoyo a la población local, atendiéndola por todo tipo de enfermedades, de situaciones críticas y nacimientos.

Capacidades del Laboratorio del Hospital Reubicable
Hemograma Completo: recuento de glóbulos blancos, hematocrito, hemoglobina, recuento de plaquetas, índices hematimétricos, fórmula leucocitaria, velocidad de sedimentación globular.

Equipamiento: contador hematológico

Química Clínica: glucosa, urea, creatinina, ionograma plamático, enzimas cardíacas, enzimas hepáticas, amilasa, fosfatasa alcalina, coagulograma.

Equipamiento: espectrofotómetro, autoanalizador de electrolíticos, coagulómetro, centrífuga, baño termostatizado.

Análisis de Orina: orina compelta, sedimento urinario.

Equipamiento: centrífuga, microcentrífuga, microscopio.

Serología: HIV, Chagas, VDRL, Dengue, Malaria, etc.”

The Argentine Air Force has set up their Relocatable Hospital in Buenos Aires International Airport, made up by Expandable 3D Modular Units manufactured by Arcat.

“Requested by the Health Secretary, The Argentine Air Force set up one of their Relocatable Militar Hospitals in a place near the International Airport in order to improve passengers´s assistance related to pig flu.

Defense Secretary, Ms. Nilda Garré, after receiving the request of Ms. Graciela Ocaña, her Health colleague, demanded the Argentine Air Force to deploy one of their Rolocatable Militar Hospitals at Ezeiza International Airport.

This proceeding will be carried out with a view to offer a contribution to passenger control regarding the outbreak of Influenza A/H1N1, known as swine influenza.

This expandable Hospital is installed in eleven containers -seven with hospital equipment and four as support- that can be transported through different means, including air with planes C-130. In this case, it was transported from Palomar Air Brigade -the transport Brigade of the Air Force- and it is being placed at Ezeiza in a site near the Airport central buildings.

Regarding the services it provides, the hospital has an intensive care room for four patients, laboratory, Xray room, two ambulances for the transport of sick people to the health center they were sent if necessary, a capacity of sixteen beds and, once it is implemented, four doctors, eight nurses and two biochemists will work in eight-hours-shifts. Moreover, staff from the Health Department, will possibly join the process.

With a view to fullfill the permanent working of the hospital, people are working in the containers to install the electrical network. On Friday this week it is estimated to be in full activity. Its function will be receiving potential patients sent there on arrival to Ezeiza Airport.

It is necessary to highlight that the Relocatable Hospital placed in the airport was adquired by the current administration this year, with funds from the special peacekeeping operation program, and this is the first deployment. Due to its features, it is able to be transported to a battlefront and assist injured people, but at the same time, it is fully capable to be adapted to every medicine field.

Thus, and due to its wide range of capacities and services, the Argentine Air Force Relocatable Militar Hospital, has been ranked with Level I Plus by the UN. According to this rating, the Hospital is highly competent to answer before emergencies and evacuations. Moreover, the rate Plus is about having an analysis and XRay laboratory.

It is worth mentioning that this Hospital has similar features to the one the Air Force has placed in Haiti, as part of the Argentine Blue Helmets who are part of the UN peacekeeping mission in that country, called MINUSTAH.

Currently, it is working as the hospital of the whole MINUSTAH force and, at the same time, it has supported the local population with assistance in every kind of illness, critical situations and births.

Capacities of the Relocatable Hospital Laboratory
Complete Hemogram: white blood cell count, hematocrit, hemoglobin, platelet count, hematimetric values, leukocyte formula, globular sedimentation speed.

Equipment: hematologic counter

Clinical Chemistry: glucose, urea, creatinine, plasmatic ionogram, cardiac enzimes, hepatic enzimes, amylase, alkaline phosphatase, coagulogram.

Equipment: spectrophometer, automatic electrolyte analyzer, coagulometer, centrifuge, thermostatized bath.

Urine Analysis: complete urine test, urine sediment.

Equipment: centrifuge, microcentrifuge, microscope.

Serology: HIV, Chagas disease, VDRL, Dengue, Malaria, etc.”
